Mental Health and Back to School

Are you ready to send your children back to school? Mental Health America has provided free resources that address the mental health needs of returning students. Their resources aim to help parents, teachers, and students deal with the many emotions that kids experience with the demands of school. Helpful hints address the ideas of emotional intelligence and ways to self-regulate emotions.

Kids are exposed to many messages that tell them that they are not good enough or that they don’t meet the mark. Having emotional regulation skills can help students’ better deal with anger, shame, hurt, fear, and overwhelm. I hope this helps you to be better prepared for the upcoming school year.
